Sanjaya Khanal is practicing cardiologist with the Heart Center of the Antelope Valley, Lancaster, California. Previously he was Associate Professor of Medicine at the Wayne State University Medical School and the Director of the Interventional Cardiovascular Fellowship Program at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He received medical training at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Harvard Medical School, and Loma Linda University Medical Center. Previously Sanjaya was Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia. He has written in numerous professional journals, a chapter in a book on evidence based cardiology in addition to acting as principal investigator in research studies and serving on oversight committees. An active member of ANMF since 1997, he has returned to Nepal to conduct continuing medical education programs, participate in the establishment of the ANMF/Nepal office, and help organize a project linking district hospitals with central hospitals with Internet access. Dr. Khanal is project manager for the continuing medical education program in cardiology, to be held in Nepal in 2005.
