Janak Koirala is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and Laboratory Medical Consultant to the Springfield Department of Public Health. He has been principal investigator on a number of research projects and grants and has authored professional publications and abstracts, given numerous scientific presentations and invited lectures. He was Medical Officer of the Ambulatory Care and Emergency Department of the Patan Hospital in Nepal. Dr. Koirala served as ANMF General Secretary from 1999 to 2001. He was chairman of the organizing committee for the 3rd Annual conference of the America Nepal Medical Foundation in Chicago and project manager of the ANMF 2001 Nepal continuing medical education program in Infectious Diseases in Pokhara, Nepal.
